Meet the Team

Amber joined Airport Animal Clinic in 2020, bringing with her more than a decade of experience in veterinary practices throughout the state of New Mexico. As both head technician and practice manager, she plays a critical dual role — overseeing daily operations while also delivering exceptional hands-on care to our patients.

With a professional focus in small animal dentistry and internal medicine, Amber ensures that every pet, whether a playful pup or a senior feline, receives thorough, comprehensive care. She is deeply committed to client education, believing that empowered pet owners make the best decisions for their animals. Supporting a dynamic, growth-minded team is part of her philosophy of success in the veterinary field.

Outside the clinic, Amber enjoys the rugged ranching lifestyle with her husband and son. Whether hunting, fishing, or exploring the New Mexico wilderness, she finds joy in raising her son with a deep respect for nature, hard work, and rural traditions.

Santana joined our team in 2020 as a veterinary technician and lead technician. Serving as a dedicated tech, her experience and leadership qualities are a true treasure, providing crucial support to the entire team to ensure exceptional care for all animals under her charge. Her commitment to animal well-being, along with her strong leadership skills, makes her a key member of our team.

After attending college to study veterinary technical skills, Santana returned to her hometown of Grants, NM, to share her passion and skills with our beloved community. Her “bubbly” personality is sought after, and her presence excites many patients in a time when they are normally timid, just one of her many talents. Santana is an active member of our community and a lovely, familiar face to many. After work, you will often find her cheering her children and their sports teams, or maybe running a trail.

Santana has a secret talent for coordinating and decorating any event you can possibly imagine. She is often dancing and laughing. She truly is the life of the party and believes everything needs celebrating!

Meet Krysta. She is one of our newest veterinary assistants. Krysta was born and raised right
here in Grants, NM, and has recently moved back after completing her bachelor’s degree in
General Agriculture at New Mexico State University. Krysta is eager to learn and continue
building her skills as a veterinary technician. She enjoys working with all sorts of animals, from
the smallest kitten to the largest cow. When not at the clinic, you may find her snuggled at home
with her pet lizard and dogs, reading a book or watching her favorite shows on repeat!

Monika is a familiar face to many clients here at AAC, as she has been a vital part of our team
for over a decade. From handling the challenges of accounts to comforting a colic horse, she is
ready for work each day with no hesitation. Monika is our early bird who will care for
hospitalized patients like her own and starts the days off with a smile and a hot tea, of course!
You may not meet her in the examination room, but you will find her out at the cattle chute and
horse pens, as large animals are her passion. She comes with a great history and pride in caring
for show jumping horses, just as she spoiled her own Red Angus cattle at home! But when not
hard at work, she is hard at play! You can find her following her favorite bands, dancing the night
away, and even preparing for a race with her daughter on a tandem bike!
